FG Martin B-10
Here is my progress so far on FG's Martin B-10. The tricky parts so far have been at the nose and tail. The nose part around the turret is very complex and a better diagram would have been appreciated. Also the vertical tail is molded with the fuselage which makes shaping the rear fuselage very difficult. I'll try to get a start on the wings tonight.

Great start! I've been wondering how this one builds up. I'll eegerly be watching this one. But not in a creepy way. I hope

Wag - It looks really good, When I started the wing insertion into the fuselage I had to cut the bombays open and had to glue in doublers on the fuselgae above and below the wing box. The fuselage was collapsing in and the wing fillets wouldn't fit correctly - other than that a nice kit from FG with all kinds of interior detailing possibilties. Your build has inspired me to finish mine. Thanks -

Made some more progress yesterday. I glued a series of tabs to the wing center section to give the fuselage something to glue to which seemed to work pretty well-but I ended up with a 2mm gap at the front. Poor planning on my part,I should have left the gap at the back where it would have been covered by the fillet. Speaking of fillets, back when I built stick and tissue models I could never get those right and, sadly,I still can't. They look ok but I'll have to go back and patch the front and rear parts.
I'm also getting an idea of how HUGE this thing is. I seem to have plunged ahead without regard to where I'll display it. Oh well. Wayne |

This looks good to me, Wayne. I'm always ready to see a Golden Age/Between the Wars build and this is one that I hope tobuild myself some day, so I appreciate your comments on the challenges you have met.

Wayne,
I'm following this build as this is a great subject and I appreciate your comments and guidance on how you've resolved challenges. Keep up the good work. I understand the "ooops" factor on, "Where do I display this?" My wife reminds me of this everytime she hears the printer going. |

This is going together much quicker than I anticipated. I was able to print another copy of the fuselage and fillet parts and use them to patch up the deficient areas. The engine nacelles did not fit the curvature of the wing leading edge (my fault) and the grey area on the fuselage that indicates where the front canopy goes was too large. I had some model paint that almost matched the blue but it's still noticable. Next time I'll fix it in Photoshop.
