Little Morane Saulnier Bullet from FG

A friend of mine bought me this a long while back, but I just got around to building it.

You can find this modl here for $3.50.
https://www.fiddlersgreen.net/models...er-Bullet.html

I printed the thing on some light card recycled from those folder pages put in spiral bound note books. The size was 4x6 inch. The paper was a little soft but it worked out on such a small model.

As with all Fiddlers Green models this one was rather simple in design, but a bit hard in execution. I think a good builder can improve on the basic design considerably, but even built as is, it looks to be a pretty fun little kit, and I like the colors.

I skipped the engine all together and scratch built one using q-tip sticks for the 9 cylinders and a bone bead the right size for the hub, then "painted" them black with a marker. I used the spinner that came with the kit, but I think that it is a bit too pointed for the model. I may make another that is more bulbous. I am working on the landing gear now, and then I will string it. I will have pictures of the finished plane soon.

Even with the scratch built engine, this was a rather quick littl build. I will have to try the full size one next.

OK, the pics. No rigging yet. The little engine is hard to see behind that big nose, so I probably could have used the printed engine.

Nice build. I like the FG models, plenty of scope for enhancing.

CT, looks great!! I like your idea for the engine. I've been looking at a couple of WWI aircraft with rotary engines, but what a pain, so I was thinking of using cut toothpicks as they are about the correct diameter for the cylinders on the aircraft I'm looking at doing. I couldn't tell, did you use wires for the landing gear?
