Lockheed F-117 - Halinski 1:33

After many months (years?) on which I haven't post a new build thread, I present here my current project: the famous Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk, (representation of a machine of the 37th Tactical Fighter Wing of the 12th Air Force Tactical Air Command, USAF, Tonopah Test Range, Nevada, was flown by Col. Al Whitley ) of Halinski-publishing (Military Model Nr.1-2/2000) in scale 1:33.

The camouflage of the aircraft was in the first place by types of so-called "brilliant cut (which reduces the radar cross section). These include as many flat surfaces that emit a small part of radar energy in many different directions. Even the wings of the F-117A are facet cut and not arched. The entire plane is covered with radar absorbent material (RAM).

For this model, I didn't go the usual way of building it (cockpit, fuselage, etc); but I went first to the bombs. Two laser-guided GBU-27 Paveway III.

But hold... did you notice? There is no front fins for the second bomb!! I have to make copies of those to use them on the second bomb.

YES!

I have seen this model put together in a Polish website - can't remember which one. Good Kit!

I think the key to a successful build of the Nighthawk will be to use a straightedge for cutting/bending. Don't free-hand the cuts - use a straightedge.... but you already knew that.

I have this model, but am hesitant to cut on it. It's not that I am afraid to build it, it's just that I consider it too beautiful to cut!

Ken

Now... let's begin with the bomb bays. These are the parts on the sheet.

Now let's begin with the "cranes".

Thank you friends!!!

Ash... nice to see you around! Thanks!

Ken, I hear you man... but this model is for my wife, as she is being asking for it almost for a year now. So, I´m indulging my better half. Anyway... I still have the one from GPM... to keep as is!

More on the bomb family... this are the supports... or better yet... the carriers of the bombs.

And now... a few pictures for the parts of the bomb carriers. Bases and actuators.
