cmags - I didn't mention an "H."

You may already know this, but the H was a high-performance version of the P-51; almost an entirely new airplane.

The "K" as referenced in my post was a Dallas-built P-51 with an Aerotech propeller. I'll check the S/N.

Right now, I'm doing his Block-15 airplane. The O/D will be more green than brown as the plane didn't get that much weathering in the spring of 1944.

I'm probably nerding out too much (laughs).

Oops, yea you did say K not H, I just thought H because I had never heard of K. Interesting to learn the history though.

Now I'm curious how long the D he flew had that OD paint scheme before it was scrubbed to bare metal... more digging...

I'm full of useless trivia worthy of bar-fights among airplane geeks. My artwork is nowhere near perfectly accurate, but I feel a lot better every time I get a new detail right.

OLD CROW is unusually documented, thankfully. Not too much to argue about!

A-36 and P-51A = Inglewood, CA plant
P-51 B = Inglewood, CA plant
P-51 C = Dallas, TX plant
P-51 D = Inglewood, CA plant
P-51 K = Dallas, TX plant + Aerotech propeller

Some P-51s have a slightly different canopy; you'll notice a distinct hump towards the back of the teardrop. Though many of these canopied airplanes came from the Dallas plant, not all did.

Is there an A-36 and P51A Old Crow??
If so, anyone got any info? pics?

And, does anyone know about the formation lights on the Old Crow B?
Two lights? Right wing...Red and Green? just inside the edge of the Insignia bar?

No no no no no - no A-36 or A model Old Crow.

I was just giving additional P-51 info. Pardon my geekiness!
