Thanks guys, some real compliments there. I appreciate it.
I'm seeing that after a build like this, its hard to stop. Already added the first additional scratch-built detail - the inner gear flap pistons (or whatever you'd call them). For a piece of straight pin and two small pieces of paper, they came out really nice and I like the added "bling" it gives the plane. :D They're a little big for the scale, but close enough and it adds good feel.

Wow cmags!!!!!! What a great little build! I love this bird (Jack Ilfrey's too) and think Bud Anderson was one of the finest pilots of this aircraft and you have made a great model!

The little things
Thanks guys. Speaking of the little things... I've added a few details and am officially calling this bird complete.
I built the landing light using Gerado's technique from his F-117 build - outside paper cone and backing, inside tin foil and ball of tinfoil for the "bulb", then the outside trim. I skipped the acetate lens because it couldn't be seen and I kept losing it because of the same reason. :p Added the pitot tube made from dual-layer card, colored dual-shades of gray, and some of the undercarriage details (not sure what they are) using 110lb card single layer - left white. One had a tube hanging off facing aft, so I recreated that using guitar wire (B string). I used the same guitar wire to make the antenna off the tail. Finally I added some card and string wheel chocks to finish off the display. Enjoy!

Thanks Ryan. I've got some updates to my extra parts page that I'll send along at some point. Do you plan to build this at 1:50 or 1:72? I'll have to rescale the parts to 1:50 to send at that scale for ya.
