Thanks, John. I had hoped to try my hand at the model this weekend, but had to finish a copyediting job and a manuscript review. Hope to have one built and pictures up in a few days -- either that, or a posting identifying a problem and asking for help! In that regard, I take it that the top of the cabin is meant to lift up so that the wing can be installed? Don

Hey Don...........
The wing was one of the last parts I put on..............landing gear is always the last for me. I cut the top so that is was a "flap" but when I glued the windshield on, it left a slot for the wing to slide into. I also coated the inside of the main gear struts with super glue to give then a little more strength. But really everything was so well designed by Guido it fit together like a glove on a hand..........O J excluded. I think you will enjoy building this little gem! john |

Congratulations, Jim! It's a little beauty!
My CA-8 build got sidetracked by some other commitments, but I still hope to have a photo up before Christmas. It won't be nearly as clean a build as yours, however. Don B. |

And I sure would like to get it completed! It's competing with Christmas preparations and work, but I'm still hopeful.

Thanks for the great looking model Guido! This will give me something to do when I'm at home for a week over Christmas Break. Sometimes I really love being a teacher

Partial Build
Well, a couple of deadlines came up and sucked up all my free time and now the grandsons arrive in a couple of hours, so my Christmas airplane is on hold for now. Nonetheless, I wanted to show that I had at least started to build it.
This is the trial build. I've learned a few things in the process and hope to produce a better product -- maybe after Christmas. You may be able to see the wing spar that I installed (the starboard wing is temporarily secured with removable tape) and the 1mm cardboard blanks for the wheel centers. As John mentioned, it is a very well engineered little airplane and everything fits very nicely. I've had trouble making the vertical stabilizer match up with the tail end of the fuselage, but I am sure that it is me and not the model that is at fault. Best wishes to all for the holidays and the New Year. I hope to see many other GA-8s in Christmas livery. Don |

Finished mine today. Sorry but there are no pics. I drove 5 hours and realized when I arrived that I forgot the camera. Doh! Anyway, thanks DGA for the wonderful plane. It does go together very well indeed. Although, I did forget the much advised nose weight. Currently it is in "rotation" phase of takeoff
