HFB-320 Hansa Jet - WHV - 1:50
Here’s another one of my older builds that I dug out of storage. I mainly build ships, but once upon a time I did build a few aircraft.
This is the Wilhelmshaven 1/50 scale HFB-320 Hansa Jet. This model was built some time in the late ‘80s. I always like showing this one because most people think the X-29 was the first aircraft with forward swept wings, but the Hansa Jet first flew in 1964! The wing spar passed behind the passenger cabin so it didn’t take up any cabin volume, plus it also resulted in all the windows being in front of the wing for a better view. The paper has yellowed a bit, and some stains have appeared here and there, but it’s still an interesting model. Unusual subjects like this are one of the main reasons I was drawn to paper models.
