All the cameras you have are cameras with small sensors so the high iso is bad, and don't be fooled by the SLR-like marketing hype, I've a 4 years old DSLR and the ISO 1600 is better than the ISO 200 in one of this cameras, so keep it at ISO 100. Of course if you set up the ISO and the small aperture you're going to need a very slow shutter speed but if you're using a tripod you can use it. Review the manuals and see which is the minimum focus distance for the lenses. Sometimes this kind of cameras can focus a very short distance at the wide end ( just an inch, for example) but if you are using the lens at the telephoto end you can be a lot far from the object. Maybe you know about this maybe no, I hope to help. Regards Alcides

Oh yeah, forgot to mention about the self timer on the camera as Alcides pointed out above. Of course a shutter release is ideal, but I don't think they make one for non-dslr cameras. I use the self timer myself. Reason is, even though you are using a tripod, the action of pressing the shutter button on the camera while on the tripod will cause camera shake. The self timer will allow for the a delayed shutter action while the vibration of pressing the shutter button dissipates.
And here is some helpful info regarding the correlation of shutter speed to aperture. http://www.photonhead.com/beginners/...ndaperture.php And ISO information if needed. http://www.cameratown.com/guides/iso.cfm |

One more tip is to use the A mode on the camera insted of the auto and adjust the white balance to fit the lighiting area for yelow bulb light or fluorescent light .
it makes the pictures lighing more natural. hope this helps too.

Yes, I've been using the self-timer on the tripod for all shots. Lighting seems to be the key, as well as ISO. I do use the A mode (aperture-priority) and choose manual WB correction. Haven't gotten a chance to look for new lighting yet, but I'll get there. Thanks for the tips folks.

Hey Wyvern, thanks for asking. I completely forgot about it. I'll throw something together this weekend and send it to Chris. If you PM me your email, the rough parts are ready, I just haven't gotten them arranged in PDF with pics to send to Chris yet.

Sorry I missed this thread, and thank you cMags for pointing me here.
Excellent model (way better than my FG Albatros) and glad you tried the rigging technique. Your rigging came out great. Tippet is a fine monofilament used to tie fly lures for fly fishing. It is available in better 'fishing departments" of sporting goods stores, and easily available on-line. The smallest size in 8x at 0.003-inch diameter (thinner than paper). That is the size I usually use for 1/72 rigging. I look forward to your next rigged plane.

Nice model, if you let me, the landing gear is wrong, the short leg is in front side, and the long leg is back.
