Hobby Model F8U Build

Hello Everybody,
This is a model I built a couple of years ago after the
SU-35 Build. It was scanned and printed out on 80 lb
cover style paper. I then gave it two light coats of
Krylon Cristal Clear. I appoligize for not having the
initial fuselage buildup documented. In those days I
was more interested in building the model than taking
pictures. The canopy and wheels were purchased
from Saul Jacobs when he sold them on his website.
The documentory pictures are mostly of a plane
from VF-211 which I was a member of when in the Navy
as a jet engine mechanic. Regards, Ron

Excellant build. I have this kit and was a little wary of building it as I had a few Hobbymodel miserable fitting kits. how was it? were there any majour mishaps, your end result looks great. My mishaps were with the F4E Phantom and the old F7U Gutless er Cutlass,

It was pretty straight forward as far as the build went. I'm partial to Hobby Model
kits I think they are better fitting than a lot of the old Fly Model & GPM kits. I always
wanted to build the Cutlass but could never find one to purchase. I have a pretty
good collection of the Hobby Model line.
Presently I'm redesigning the late model B-17G that Lou Dausse gave me. I hope to
complete it soon. I am attaching a photo of the B-17 that I'm designing.
Regards, Ron

Great build. I was an Air Intercept Controller in the Navy and did a lot of ACM's with F-8's. Not much of a radar, but the F-8's were great to control. Did my heart good to see the model.

Excellent build! I've heard that the HM stuff can be a little challenging, but you seem to pull it off very well!
