I have some very detailed photos of the M21 Blackbird at the Seattle Museum of Flight. Need some closeups of the engine? How about landing gear? Most photos are 1.5mb or larger, if you would like a copy, pm me. Great project the two of you are doing! I'll have to get one of these myself! Love what you're doing! I have over 3,000 on my autocad drawing since 2002 of this particular bird! Been reading and viewing. Forgot about my photos until I was looking for something else. Here is an example... Best regards, Mike Bauer |

Looking good Billy. It does appear like it will be a nice big sled.

I guess I could throw in my $0.02 worth. Like Mr. Bauer, I also have a bunch of pictures of an SR-71. We have one at the museum I work at. The engine is out, as are the landing gear. Maybe I could bribe Ken to do the tail# (61-7964) of the one here too :p

Repaints of the Blackbird would be one of the easiest repaint jobs in the history of papermodeling :D:D

I am still very unhappy that the Air Force Museum decided to take the A-12 Blackbird that was on display at the Minnesota Air Guard Museum and send it to be put on a stick inside the CIA compound in D.C. out of view of the public.
I am very much looking forward to this model being available. |

Nice job Billy!
I am sure you discovered this already, but be careful about using the circle cutter on these bulkheads. The only "round" sections are at the very front; spike section. Several bulkheads in the middle of the nacelle are not really circles - but have slight flats in them. The reason is because these nacelle assemblies are "banana-shaped" in the top view. Flat on the inboard side, and curved on the outboard side. Currently I am working on the rear fuselage and wing section. I should be sending that within a few days. BTW, the ink and paper you are using seems to render the correct shade of black. Ken |
