Must be the season for wifely interest - my lady works away from home during the week and we talk each night...tonight she'd gotten really bored and had pulled out an old 1/24 model she'd bought years ago to see what this modelling thing was all about, and started to work on it...

Lancer, you better be careful your wife doesn't claim back that Lamina license for her own use!!

I don't have a wife yet (still working on her), so I'm gonna have to build this one on my own.

I'm still trying to get a picture of the size of this thing when done (I gotta know if I need to rent the apartment next door or not:p). I usually don't pay attention to scale when I design / build a model, so I don't have a clue what 1/32 generally looks like.

The SR-71 in 1:32 scale would come out to be around 40 inches long. That's almost exactly 1 meter in length.

Better buy stock in black ink! I get a feeling that there is going to be a shortage real soon! Billy has started stock-piling cartidges as we speak...

A (perhaps unreasonable) request, Ken - please make the panel lines (grey, I assume) wide enough so they do not get "lost" in the black when printed. I would guess 3-4 pixels (at 300ppi) would suffice. I wonder if Epson sells their black cartridges by the case...???

As a matter of fact, they do. Wholesale, unfortunately.

This would be a good time to invest in a CISS...I've been using one since November, have chewed through a couple of reams of paper and the ink level on the black is still only down to about the 3/4 level...

Fortunately, when I restocked my laser printer black toner cartridge a few years ago, I got the extra capacity one, with 50,000 pages worth if toner. and I've only used about 2000. Bring it on:D

Don't sell that in the states, do they? Looks marvelous.

I'm pretty sure that they are available in the US as I think at least one US member of the group has commented on using one...even if not, the cost of the extra post from down under would be recovered pretty quickly through savings in ink cartridges, possibly in just trying to print Ken's Blackbird and X-15...!!

Thanks! I'll investigate if they're available locally, and if not, I may have to hop a plane NZ!
