I found it on the internet and I just couldn't resist building it.

Nice looking build but I don't remember that the
wings were installed with the trailing edges forward.
Still a nice looking model. Ron

its such an awkward plane to begin with...maybe Dorfman had ideas of his own?

Nice model and well built although like Ron pointed out, the trailing edges should be the other way round. Other than that, well made Great film{s} - the original was the best IMO

Seemed weird but When I looked at pictures of the plane it appears correct.

Great build of a great model...the original is by far my favourite...the model obviously depicts the Phoenix after it delivered its passengers to safety and was shipped back to the NASM where, due to the lack of sound references or design notes/plans, the wings have been accidentally reversed...

If I remember correctly one of the stunt pilots, Frank Tallman,
was killed making the movie. I'm not sure of the spelling of
his last name but I believe he was a founder of the Mojave
Air museum or it's predecessor.

Paul Mantz, I think it was...back in the day, there was no CG effects, just build it and fly it for the movie - unfortunately the Phoenix crashed just at the end of the filming...
