Glen, keep at it mister. Hindsight.....you know the cliche Maybe a bit of drybrushing or whatever will take care of those 100x magnification white edges. I love watching you build. Can we really expect a full report over the duration?

Ron

Kindly Ron, the feeling is mutual. Regarding completion...well I never really know when starting, but the plan is to as the Troll once said "as finished as it's going to be"

Glens-san, I overlooked this thread. I am impressed with your insightful comment on edge coloring for cylinders

Thank you for stopping by Yu-san, nice always to have any input from you in fact I was thinking how beautiful must be those radials hidden under cowlings in the gallery by yourself must be....
Moving forward to a rather tedious operation, the valve covers. I dont think these are accurate for a Pratt + Whitney having seen them up close, but will use them. The shape of these are more Wright definately, and the P+W have also some additional tubing across the cylinder tops that I'm thinking of not including...again another builder might choose to do that. A jig as used by Bomarc that has to be the reference for a radial engine, is needed for the large number of valve covers and I intend to paint them. This is a simple jig consisting of a wooden stick to shape and dipped in wax, although it enlarged the stick so wax mostly scraped off with the knife edge. I think this will make consistant covers, now to make 'em

Looks like another up and coming monster thread...Just in time for those of us who are going through withdraw symptoms due to the completion of Bomarc's epic PBJ!

One last pic for the moment, have the forward row of valve covers made, here is the engine with 2 cylinders on, made the pushrod holes with the needle shown here I think will cut staight pins for pushrod cover tubes as will be undeniably straight
