C-130T Fat Albert from NOBI/AirDave

Time for a new build! Not that I have finished the F-117, but it's nice to have another project at the same time you are building one.

This airplane I got it from Ecardmodels.com, and the kit has the so-called enhanced formers, so I think we are good to go with it.

The model originally comes in 1/48 scale, but for the sake of my house space, I printed the model at 1/96 aprox... meaning that I printed 2 PDF pages on each letter-sized sheet. And the sheets are the ~80 lb type (according to this paper weight conversion web site). Printed on laser.

First cuts and builds. The fuselage. I think this is pretty straight-forward.

I decided to build pairs of fuselage sections for one former. NOBI's instructions are really easy to follow.

Looking good so far!

Keep us posted on how the color laser print works out. There seems to be a rumor floating around that the laser color can flake off at the folds. Keep a heads up for it, but if you don't run into any problems, let us know what printer you're using. Maybe newer printers don't have this problem like color lasers of old...

It's no rumor...

is that why the colours are so strong and vibrant? a laser colour printer?
or is it just in the photography?

Guys, this is not my first model with laser printing. I guess it's the Xerox DocuColor definition. I printed it at Office Depot here in Monterrey, Mexico.

This is a Mustang (Dr. Zarkov's ModelArt)I built a couple of month ago, same printing.

You guys judge.

More on the Fat Albert this weekend.

Gerado, do you seal the page before cutting/scoring/bending with anything, or do you go at it right off the printer? The laser print has a nice sheen to it, especially on that Mustang. Nice work.

Beautiful Mustang! I suspect Fat Albert will be just as nice. Will keep looking to see.
