Cool Cessna A-37 B Dragonfly

A-37 B Dragonfly is absolutely ugly in my personal point of view. The motto for them is "Small but deadly". Fifteen years ago, I experienced its low level with loud noise. Today, some displays at the RTAF museum while some was stored at Royal Thai Aircraft Preservation and Development Foundation.

Two week ago, I went to Chaingmai, upnorth from Bangkok around 800 km. and took some picture of it. Old and careless on a lonely airfield of Wing 41. Please take a look.

We used to see the trainer versions - "Tweets" - every single day here in South Texas since they were based near my home. I always loved the looks of the bird and could watch them all afternoon as a boy. It's just all the underwing stores that mess up the aircraft's lines in the attack version.

Nice job on a complex shape. The 6,000 pound dog whistle is a beautiful (equals functional) airplane - a minimum amount of metal wrapped tightly around those old centrifugal flow turbojets (if you heard an A-37 those are fitted with axial flow engines from a T-38; still loud but nowhere near as piercing as the T-37A model).

I spent six nice years working on this aircraft in Tucson Az., 23 Tactical Air Support Squadron 602 Wing, Forwad Air Control. We were the last active duty squadron and sold half our fleet to Honduras and the other half ended up in the boneyard. About two years after I left they switched over to the (O)A-10. Loved working on the GE J-85-17A engine; it was my favorite until I got to the GE F110-100/-129 engine.

It really wasn't much like the Tweet except in the general outward appearance, it weighed about as much empty as the Tweet weighed fully loaded.

Nice job on the Dragonfly! But, after seeing those pictures of the Starfire and Dragonfly sitting there in their current condition made me have to run upstairs and grab a box of tissue...

It's matter of time, Ken.

There hundre of airplane that left in the airplane graveyeard. Actually, ten years ago these aircrafts were once repairs and be able to airborane after its decommissioned from RTAF. They were well preserved once but due to limited budget so they become these condition.

I fly out of El paso and get to hear the T-38's that NASA uses. LOUD! I have never seen the A-37 but wish I could have. Very nice build! love the clear windows. Looks like you might have sprayed the model with a clear coat?

Absolutely correct, fellas. I did it because the real dragonfly, exhibiting at RTAF museum did that therefore I copied it!
