No Salt in the wound.

Ok, I removed the coarse salt and laid down some white paper for the moment. Will work on a new display when I get some time. Working on the finish of the Corsair...

Look as good as mine :D
What's your overall impression?, I think the fitting is just great, and that makes it 'easy' to build, the instruction could be better, but it's one of the best kits I've build..
BTW, how did you do the dome in the tail section ?

Hello Billy

First let me say that you wrote the book on this one and so I appreciate your first line "Look as good as mine :D" I am not sure it does, but thanks.

Well I thought it was a straight forward build. I built the canopy and ejection seat first as I thought if I can build those two parts the rest should be easy. But I gotta tell you the canopy was a bear and the ejection seat was lots of small parts. The fitting was great and the instructions were very clear, but that could be because I looked in on your build threads. The fits are right on the money and if you cut accurate it goes together well. I did the dome out of a wooden bead that I cut in half and sanded on the bottom and then I painted it. I thought your build was great and It inspired me to get this one done. I did this in 4 days. I was working on Wills Military Corsair and I needed a break so I put this one together for a small breather.
Thanks for the commets. Even the salt haters. :D

Yeah, the canopy was the hardest part, but when I build it for the second time, re-enforcing the formers of the canopy with CA glue it came out fine..

Canopy

I glued the canopy with CA at one corner and tacked it togther. Then I tore a strip of #20 paper and put a glob of CA on that. I used the strip of paper as a sort of brush. As I passed it along the edge of the part I would then glue the two edges together about 1/2" at a time. This allowed me to get a good fit with very little glue line showing. Also I used Zip Kicker. This sets the CA instantly and does not have any effect on the paper or the ink. When it evaporated I saw no signs of it having been threre. I also did this on the body fuselage parts. Clamped both ends after forming it to curve and then applied small amount of CA at both ends. Zipped it tight and removed clamps. Then brushed edges and brought them toghter. Perfect alignment everytime. I used 20 second open time lockite gel CA.

That base looks pretty cool with the NAA logo. I think you've nailed it, frankly.

Beautiful! I'm amazed that you built this in only 4 days! I'll have to try using CA glue with the Kicker.
