Re: A beta builder for me

File received.

Printing.

I have printed this out on A4 120gsm plain paper. I had to reduce in size by 70% in order to make it fit.

All colours and patterns have come out nice.

First Impression

The build looks simple enough, no instructions supplied, with parts numbered. There are also a number of formers, these are not numbered but the print location would indicate which sections they belong too.

Some parts have tabs, some do not, so I'll make those as I go along.

Just a quick note on instructions. This sort of model is great for newcomers but they may need a bit more than a numbered diagram of the plane.

Cheers JTF

Re: A beta builder for me

Finally got round to starting the build. (Got caught up in one of my own designs)

The main fuselage is together. I was unable to use the cross section formers, they are to big.

I'd guess if the was done in a 3D program you'd have the cross section and the fuselage skin the same size. When I rolled the fuselage skin the internal diameter is reduced due to paper thickness so is smaller than the cross section diameter.

Having said that, I have built section 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 without the cross section and they went together fine.

Cheers JTF

Re: A beta builder for me

I believe that all the digitally designed models have this problem. I guess I have to resize the cross-sections.
