The Logo for my Games: Adamastor Games

After discussing with my wife thoroughly the logo I wanted for my games, she came out with this. I like it a lot, but I was wandering if you all could give me some feedback.

Adamastor is a mythic and terrible sea giant that waits ships at the Cape of Good Hope (South Africa).

A Portuguese great poet called Luís de Camões wrote about Adamastor in his great poem "The Lusiadas":

"The storm would not end, when a form
Showed himself in the air, strong and willful
Deformed and of giant stature,
Heavy in the face, a squalid beard,
Dark eyes, his posture
Dreadful and evil, and with pale brown colour,
Hair coiled and covered with dirt,
A dark mouth and yellow teeth.

He spoke with a tone of voice low and horrid,
That comes straight from the deep sea.
Hair and skin shivers in me,
And in all the sailors, only by seeing and listen to him."

I am sorry for my lousy translation. It is just to illustrate what I want.
So?
What do you think?

I've to say at first I don't understand the image. After I've read your post and I've saw the image I understand it but I think for a logo is confusing. I'm not an expert but the logos I remember are always the simple ones with an strong idea.

I've a gamer for 25 years now ( yes I'm 41 years old and I've started to play with an Sinclair spectrum with 2k or RAM ) and for example I always remember the logo from bullfrog or now the one from relic entertainment.

I think a more simple image is better.

Thanks, Alcides.
I appreciate your input.
But I don't know yet.
A clean idea is good, but I'm a bit tired of everything being too easy.
But I'm going to think about what you said.

alcides is spot on - you need to build brand awareness. Your logo should be simple and easily recognizable.

McDonalds - big M
Nike - swoosh
ecardmodels red e (couldnt resist)

I like the pic and all but I dont see how it relates BUT if you can build a brand awareness around it, thats what really matters
