19th c. plans of ancient and "modern' vessels by Admiral Paris
Plans of large sailing ships from the 17th to 19th c. as well as fishing boats and other small craft. For some reason, it is very hard to find uploaded unmarked copies of these 19th c. plans.
"Collection de plans ou Dessins de navires et de bateaux anciens et modernes, existants ou disparus : avec les éléments numériques nécessaires à leur construction / par le vice-amiral Paris, - 1882-1908" was a 6 volume set. Here are plans from three of the volumes. Plans from the "Souvenirs de Marine Conserve" vol2 1 and 2. http://www.ac-ilsestante.it/MARINERIA/museoTomAnd/piani_museo/index.html Antique and "Modern" Vessels (part3) by Edmund Paris http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k5699565s An essay on non European boats http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k1160350/f1.image and https://archive.org/search.php?query=creator%3A%22P%C3%A2ris%2C+Edmond %2C+1806-1893%22 or https://archive.org/details/essaisurlaconstr02pris and https://archive.org/details/essaisurlaconstr01pris A biography of Admiral Paris https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fran%C3%A7ois-Edmond_P%C3%A2ris Last edited by John Wagenseil; 07-08-2016 at 10:53 PM. |
