Author! Author!
Is anyone familiar with the designs of Michael Johnson? He is a co-author of several large format aircraft books, two of which I own. "Classic Paper Planes" and "Historic Paper Planes" The pieces are die cut and the printing is first rate but the paper stock seems a little flimsy for the size of the models.
Anyone assemble one? I'd like to know your experience before I dive in... Thanks; |

This may sound a tad obvious but if the paper stock seems flimsy why not scan the pages and print them out on your preferred paper weight ? just a suggestion...

I scanned my Nieuport 11 as soon as I got it. An additional advantage I have found is that you can put it up on a computer screen in front of you while you work.

I believe the stock is coated and the printing is far superior than any I'd get from my Canon inkjet.
hmmm ...sounds like no one has built one of his designs... Both the B52 and B2 have wing spans of about 30". I'm thinking they'll need some extra support. |

i picked up one from ebay a few years back, and it was missing an aircraft, I intend to build one or two others out of the book I have.
Plus if you build a model, you can add it to the '80's Throwback group build

Not much ago our member Atomic Paper shared his experience building some of the planes from the book which you shared the cover.
You can read this thread with his comments: "Classic Paper Planes" to Build and Fly

Just what I needed... Thanks Ruben...
The builds look like a mixed bag, from simple to having just enough complexity to catch your eye. Heaven knows what scale they are... (at least I shouldn't have to strain my eyes.) |
