You could, but it will show up on your e-bay stats. page as a request to cancel.

If you don't do it again for a certain period of time it's no big deal. If you do it 3 times in a certain period of time, they'll cancel your account.......(I don't recall what these time periods are, sorry)

It's difficult to know how to best handle it. At worse, you'll have to open a new account with new ID etc.....

Is the model something you might be interested in down the road? If so, buy the etched parts and keep your eyes open for the model.

Good luck, and be careful to read the descriptions carefully before you bid.

I thought you were going to say you bought one of those $20,000,000 cardboard motors.

If you are unwilling to accept the sound advice that swampfox gave
then I have no further advice for you. It's up to you to admit your
mistake and proceed with the payment or suffer the consequences.

really I would say it depends on what you bought - is the kit UNIQUE to one thing? A lot of those are really universal and could be used for lots of models.... just a thought

Another factor will of course be the seller. Drop him/her an email and explain the situation before you submit a request to cancel.

I would just buy it, put it on the shelf, then try to find the model or sell it again..

@ steveO I bought one of those, the legal download version was only 10$

actually this is not a problem...you inform the seller of your mistake and give them the option of cancelling the transaction...then you just agree to it.

its not a big deal.
any seller with integrity will agree to the cancellation and do it for you.

but if the seller will not agree to this, as some are only interested in the sales, then you are best to complete the transaction and try to resell the item.
