Just one of them really awful mornings Modelik and hobby model booklets ruined

the kind of mornings you wake up to disaster and just want to cry. I was woken up to the sound of running water a lake of modelik Hobby model book kits all now a soggy mess in half a foot of water, My poor modelik book of the dukw is now something for the green bin along with the other pre printed kits. I don't mind the download kits so much really they suffered far less for some reason did this flood water know what to reach and destroy

Ouch! You're not having a good early winter over there at all, are you?

Well, at least you still have the digital ones...

Hang in there, doctormax.

Dude, that blows. If I had any of those models, I'd send you some, but don't have any Modelik or the others. Sorry man. Maybe Christmas will be good for you (all expense paid trip though the entire GPM catalog) Wishful thinking I know.

Paper and preprinted imagery can survive these kind of disasters. I might be answering late to this catastrophy but:

- if the pages are stuck together because already being partially
dried soak them again and then separate the pages
- be carefull not to tear the paper in any case (let the water do the work)
- let the separated pages dry thoroughly on flat surface (printed side up)
- when totally dry iron them flat (use some clean smooth cotton cloth between the print and your iron

I've done this several times on minor disasters (spilled liquids etc.). Colours may change a little (darken) but it's consistent change if the whole booklet was soaked. Anyway, don't throw them away but try to salvage as much as possible.

Sorry to hear this mate. Is your whole area flooded ? I hope you manage to salvage something from all that and the water subsides soon.
