Question Fiddlers Green Free Fokker D.VII model?

(Don't know if this is the place to ask. Please move if necessary)

I was looking for some free models of airplanes, to enter certain contest. And I found a fansite about the Fokker D.VII which offers a free download of a paper model of the plane.

The site hosts the PDF in their server, giving credit to Fiddlers Green.

However, I went to FG's site to look for the source file, and couldn't find the free download of that specific model.

There are other DVII in FG's catalog, but not the one of the fansite.

My question is obvious:

Does Fiddlers Green offer free downloads?
(besides the choice of three free models when you register).

If so, does anybody know if Colonel General Ernst Udet's Fokker DVII was really at one time a free download from FG?
(The other DVII there are not Udet's plane. But there's a collection of 15 DVII and it probably is among them. But the downloadable PDF seems to use a different template from the Fokkers in the 15 planes collection.)

The website says that the file was uploaded March 2009 to their servers.
Won't post the link until I know for sure it is an authorized download.

Thanks a lot for your help in solving this question.

Ruben.

I know which website you are talking about and I believe that they have permission to use the red FG Fokker D.VII.
To be absolutely certain, you should email Chip and ask him.

There are several other websites about specific airplanes which have or did have a single FG model available for download.
Pirate sites normally have many models available for download.

Your best bet would be to email Chip himself and ask the same questions. He would probably have a better idea of who he has authorized to host the file than anybody.

Good job holding the link until you get further information.

I finally contacted Chip, and it looks like it is not an authorized download

Too bad.

But thanks to the generosity of a nice person I got a Fokker D.VII and that will be my next project after I finish the Folland Gnat.

Udet's Fokker DVII was a free download a FG, it was called Dell's Fat White Cat. I built it as a present for my brother-in-law. It's a black Fokker with lazange camo wings and a rear view of a white cat as the personal marking. I posted a picture of my late great beautiful white cat alongside it on the FG forum several years back. I'm not sure if it is included in the DVII collection.
