Poll: Your Preference: Thumbnails or Full Size Pics?

I've seen some miscellaneous commentary about this one. The images uploaded as attachments post as thumbnails, clickable for a larger version. Some hosting services can provide this as well, but some of us have always posted full size pics.

I know what I like to see in a thread, but I'd like to get a feel for the percentages of others. Perhaps it boils down to how much bandwidth you have, but maybe not.

What do you like to see?

Tthanks!
Rick

I like the thumbnails. Sometimes a person forgets to resize the pictures that they post in a thread so the thread gets stretched out horizontally because of the oversized pictures. It is more of an annoyance factor than a speed factor since I have a broadband connection.

I like the thumbnails primarily for the faster loading of the thread.

Thumbnails for us all-but-extinct modem users.

Here's my first ignorant question for the new site. Is it possible to allow each user to configure this? I could choose full size and our dial up friends could choose thumbnails?

good question Carl,

I don't remember ever seeing that feature in the settings, at least for this Forum OS.

I will try to delve into it this evening, and maybe Jason can help too.

although I prefer to have them full size I still think it should be up to author on how they like to show them. Each option has its place.

For a tutorial type thread or something trying to show step by step then inline is better.

If I just completed a build and want to show a bazillion pics then thumbnails are better. :D

I have not been able to find a way to do inline aside from hosting them myself but like I said before, I havent looked much either

I'm definately a full size pic man, as long as people size the pics so they aren't bigger than the screen. I find it irritating to have to click on thumb nails. Looks like I'm in the minority ....... yet again :p
