Record player (turntable) made of paper

Fully working, manual record player made entirely of paper:
SIMON ELVINS

I remember this was one of the things that I used to see in old school books when reading about sound. It was a very simple experiment.

Nice to remember it.

Though I still don't want to try it with any of my old LP records!!!!

Wow! Something like that would be a great addition to the paper clock, paper camera and paper wind generator!

Any chance that there's a paper netbook kit out there?

I tried this with on of my CDs.

No sound, I must not have been cranking fast enough.

When I started working for Sony in the mid '80s we had more than one person ask for a spindle adaptor for the new "digital records".

dummy...you have to use mylar, not paper, when building the turntable.

I was disappointed that not only is there no download for the "paper turntable"
but there is no video or sound clip of how it works.

Thanks, Dave.

No wonder I was... foiled in my attempt!
