Pets.. a papermodelers..
worst nightmare..(sometimes)
I had my Olympic class papermodels on display in my display cabinet among with other Titanic memorabilia, thinking they were save.. But then one of my pets decided to jump on top of the cabinet. Some photoframes tumbled over, and crushed my papermodels of HMT Olympic and HMHS Britannic. Fortunately there was no dammage beyond repair. The Britannic is almost back in it's former shape. The Olympic has some funnels broken off and snapped the mainmast.. but also the greatest friend... When watching one of the favourite documentaries together.. Also while surfing on the internet I found this video in which the models, among others re-appeared; Jerry

Of course she'll be interested in any TITANIC Movie - just to see if there's some fish in it for her...

That's one beautiful cat! Deserves to be forgiven. Anyone who owns Cats knows that the model belongs the cat anyways!

@ Papercaptain... hmm, could that be it?.. bummer, I thought she was getting interested in the ship..
@ Zathros, yes offcourse she was forgiven, but I don´t think the one watching tv was the one who did it.. I have four of them You can also see her here in this small buildtopic; ¨windmill¨ Also these ship models could be replaced if they were damaged to much, but those wouldn´t be the first and prototype models. That is true, and also why my 5 foot model of the ship is safely stored away in the hallway until it´s display case is ready.

Jerry, I feel your pain. Had a cat some years back that found the tips of my
ship's masts to be tasty. Cats will be cats I guess. One thing I really like about paper models is that often they CAN be repaired, unlike most other mediums. Hope you can get everything patched up including your "friendship" Bob |

Well the Britannic has been repaired and it´s rigging has been put back on tension. The Olympic is another story, I have put it back in shape and is on display again, but the mainmast is snapped (fortunately not yet broken) so Iĺl have to put some glue on it, or make myself a replacement mast.
And as for the friendship with the cats, I have three of them now sleeping on my lap. Jerry

I've had my models in various forms mashed by kids, eaten by pups, thrown away by the wife..etc...Models can be fixed rebuilt, etc... I've found more times than not, it was me not putting them up in the right place or something. Kinda' tee's you off for a few minutes...but hey such is life. One of those things that happens and will prolly happen again...Gotta just consider the source and move on.
Cool cat! My Mom used to breed persians and himilayans..man were they pretty cats. There were a couple cats that really come to remembrance and both were champion male breeders. Mom had a solid white persian male.. he was really big and fluffy and had huge green eyes. The other was the biggest himi I'd ever seen, even at the shows... He was a seal point and was huge and his hair was extra long and just gorgious....blueist eyes I've ever seen on an animal...when he meowed it sounded like Macho Man Randy Savage or something...lol ..not like a cat.
