I played for a team called the mavericks back in the 1980's and we had a great record in our football season 160 goals for and three against. I even scored forty goals twelve in one match alone. oh 1983 when we swept aside all the streets in our parish from March till the start of June. They even fixed it that we lost the street league by slight of hand because we had no one on the local team. we were cheated big time that year. They took eight points off us for having a girl on the team. So the next year she was our manager and we scored two hundred goals. Beat the team that objected to the girl on our team we scored in two matches against them forty two goals. oh Murragh drive mavericks were hot this was at soccer by the way. We had on our team a Dutch lad, a guy from the USA who dad was retired from the secret service or something so he said. A lad who was from Uganda a New Zealander and a French guy learning english. In fact we had this street league every year for five years people from age ten up to 16. One of the guys that played for us back then his son now plays for Ireland. Honestly he looks just like his dad did back then. word seen him and thought chip off the old block really.
