how much popular paper modeling is ?

hello everyone

there was a question that i got asked today

how popular your hobby is ?

i just stood still and said nothing i mean i don't even find a translation in my home language for paper modelling not mentioning that no one in the entire country knows it (yeah I've looked everywhere and still no hope)

so my question is how popular paper modelling is in your country on a scale of 0 to 10

as for me it's probably 0.00 in Egypt or even -1
so how's is it for u

P.S i only made this topic cuz i got asked a billion times and i mean NO disrespect to our wonderful hobby

Though better than some countries, it's still not too popular in the UK. Over 50% of my customers are Polish ex pats. Convincing pl****c modelers in the UK to give paper a try is like asking them to stick their hands in a blender. They just won't. The typical response I get is "Wow, that looks great....... but I couldn't do it".

Tell them next time, when they ask you that question, it is very popular with me, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it.

and then point them to the forum and show the member count

Tell them, "It began here, in Egypt, when someone got a piece of papyrus, and made the first paper pyramid". I am certain and would bet that someone did!

Good point Zathros. It's unprovable, but it stands to reason that ancient Egypt was probably the birthplace of paper modelling.
