A surprising thing about that film The German, all the air scenes (visual effects) are CGI. Took the director 6 months to texture the small scene. Click here without the auto player to the movie and scroll down to read his note.

Finally saw this movie. My two cents? It was OK. The air scenes were exciting, there were some tense moments, but overall it was just there. Don't feel I learned anything about the Tuskegee Airmen. Small- minded is what comes to mind.
Despite being "Hollywood" type movies, I find 12 O'Clock High and The Batle of Btritain much better movies and stories. Action movie? sure. Historical movie? Seriously?

I thought the Red Tails was ok. I guess I was hoping for more. Some of the flight stunts I don't think are possible but that's Hollywood for you. The German on the other hand I thought was great. The combat fighting was very good in my opinion and the searching in the forest was tense. There was another short film about the test pilots trying to break the sound barrier that I thought has interesting. Ok flying buy the story was kind of good. wc
