Cool Site. Didn't see the Schienenzeppelin listed, but I haven't gotten through the whole site.

Don't think the scheinenzeppelin is there, but for some good old American goofiness, how about this?

This website also has some possible paper model subject matter, as well as lots of other expensive idiocy.

That's insane! I've never heard of jet engine trains before. The Dark Roasted Blend link is another great one that I can spend a bit of time browsing. Thanks.

If it wasn't for the DOT and AMTRAK dragging their feet, there more than likely would have been a Sikorsky High Speed Train that would have been the beginning of high speed rail traffic in the U.S.. The Canadians had better success and ran them for a long time, from 1968-1982.

OK, I bit, and looked up Schienenzeppelin (Rail Zeppelin). Try it in wikipedia, or some google images. What a crazy cool thing that was. And possible paper model subject. It would be great in Red River Paper. Never heard of that one before. A totally crazy concept - imagine running through a train station with that propeller. Not even a simple prop guard on it (Should at least have a shroud, no).

Rob,
I considered the Schienenzeppelin as a good first attempt at designing, but I've yet to wrap my head around Sketchup. Been too busy, but lately I've been looking at some tutorials, so maybe there's hope for me yet. Bob |
