Hi Friends,
As I type this I am in tears. Yesterday I came home at around 11pm with this feeling of desperation. My wife has had the breathing tube removed, the pressure of the fluid surrounding her brain is getting back to normal and she showed longer and longer periods of near lucidity and recognition. When she smiled it broke my heart as it was the innocence of a child that was shining through. Today my son called me after the beginning of his stay and told me that she has jumped from say a 10 percent Jenny to a 40 percent Jenny! It's as if every prayer gets answered with results even larger than asked for. She should be out of ICU tonight or tomorrow and instead of having 1 nurse on her 24 hours a day it will be 1 nurse for 2 people. She will be in a quieter room with only the other person there so it will probably be easier on her re-emerging senses without all of the awful stimulation of ICU noises and emergencies. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and I can finally see it. It's a long way off and anything can happen but the odds are better and better Thank you all so much for sticking by us with you words of support and prayers! Knowing I have friends here helps so much!I'll post again when I get a chance. Ron & Jenny
