One more vote for Satriani! "Walk" by the Foo Fighters as a recent favourite.

Anything of Bruce Springsteen.

And depending on your mood, road condition, etc. I suggest this:

-if u drive along serpentine road:
Vivaldi : La Follia - YouTube

-if u drive by night and need some support:
Into Paradise - The Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz (ART of Eamon Reilly) - YouTube

-if u drive or stuck in the traffic jam, esp. in one of these oversized American cars like Ford F150 or Dodge Ram:
The Sacred War sung by Russian Choir with Fedoseev - YouTube
Feel it!

I'm serious.

p.s.

"Born to be wild" and "Sweet home Alabama" are mandatory

Music does make the way we drive change ! Get the Heavy Metal on the player, my right foot gets really heavy too When you listen to radio, you have to put up with what they give you, i take a bunch of CD's along with me. Bang a CD in with some AC/DC or Joe Satriani....me happy Don't forget, don't drink and drive, you may spill some {Joke - Never drink and drive guys}

Wow, got some excellent suggestions here!

I especially like the ones from the classical side, hadn't really thought about that genre too much.

One place that is definitely off my list of places to see:

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

(Ok, never really was on "the list" to begin with. Armed-escort tours? No thank yew!)

Sorry I haven't replied sooner, I've been having "near-life" experiences.

Anyway some of my favorites are: Electricity - Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band, Tangled Up in Blue - Bob Dylan; 6 Days On The Road - Dave Dudley; Let It Roll - Little Feat; and of course, Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf (mandatory to play at least once).

I totally agree ...

With lovely greetings

and always a good choice - Rock from the South - Lynnyrd Skynnyrd
