Exclamation Thanks Given to Guardian Angels.

Below, you'll see a picture of a car as it was last year, and another, as it was at about 1.30pm local time in Ga, today.

About 4 minutes beforehand, my nephew, his 3 sisters, and their mom were in this car.
....Suffice it to say I am mighty glad they were not in it when the cause of the second picture took place!
A tornado hit the area, resulting in the damage you see in the 2nd picture.

And yes, I am mighty Thankful to the Guardian Angels that saw to them all being safe.

Kind and Respectful Regards my friends, Uyraell.

I am pleased to report that nearly a month on, and the small amount of damage to the verandah has been repaired, the culprit tree and a couple others of similar but previously unknown instability have been downed and removed.

Most importantly: nieces, nephew, their Mom and Dad are safe and well.
For this I am indeed Thankful and give ongoing Prayers.

Thank you my friends, each of you, for your kind and thoughtful replies.

Kind and Respectful Regards my friends, Uyraell.

That car is a Volvo. I sold a an old 19070's 144 Volvo to a friend of mine. He got rear ended by a guy driving drunk. The guy came out of the front window of his car. My friend drove his Volvo back home. I don't know what happened to the guy that hit him, but the car was totaled, and had to be towed. My friend kept thanking me for the $500 dollar car I sold him that saved his life. I was kind of "bummed out", when he told me that the other guys insurance company gave him $2000 for the value of the car! I started paying attention to car prices after that.

That Volvo still has an engine and tranny that are worth a lot of money. Volvo parts aren't cheap. If I had that car, I would have turned it into a pick up truck, maybe Volvo's first!!

Happy your family was save.

Thank You Zathros My friend.

The fate of the Volvo is not yet finalised, but it has been replaced.
There isn't yet the resources necessary to "truck it" (borrowing Steinbeck's phrase here) though I fully agree it might well be worthwhile doing so.

I do know that Volvos are generally strong and safe cars, one of the reasons this one was originally purchased.
I'll say this though: when I saw that collapsed roof, and knowing who would have been sitting where in the vehicle, had they remained therein, I sweated a bit.
I've seen death up close and personal more than many, a few hundred times in fact, as I used to be an Embalmer.
So, I'm acclimatised ... or so I thought. That I sat and sweated a little, even though knowing the family was safe.... Perhaps I was not as acclimatised as I had thought.

At any rate, I'm glad my family is safe and over-all, reasonably well.

Thanks again for your kind warm wishes and friendship Zathros.

Kind and Respectful Regards Zathros My Friend, Uyraell.
