All Parts PE?
A completely photoetched kit of the Enterprise? Now that's something different. See it here; 1/2400 ALL PARTS PE Star Trek Enterprise Model Kit | eBay
It looks like it may have been inspired by Shunichi Makino's model. The seller also has numerous other subjects, battleships, carriers, guns, and more. 2 sample pix below. You'll see why I was reminded of Shunichi's model. Anyone out there have photo-etch supplies? Might be worth trying to convert some paper patterns to metal kits. You could probably print small on Red River paper to simulate the same effect. Scott K. |

Yes, I have already worked on several aircraft in 1/144 scale, using Red River paper
and various chalks and clear coats to achieve simulated panel shadings. It works out really well. This seriously intrigues me. I wonder how the panel lines were achieved, as in the Millenium Falcon. This could add a whole new dimension to natural metal aircraft, of actual metal.

I wonder if this would be considered piracy - a cool twist on it, but piracy none-the-less. That is most definitely Shunichi's kit.
