I use a nickname for my hobby because of two words: Search Engines.

My nick is the same Nick/handle i've used since I was a kid. Back when I was learning to drive My father joked that my middle name should have been "Dent" cause I wrecked 2 trucks, and my moms mustang.....then when I got into Racing (Other than drag racing) I couldn't complete a race without totaling Mine or anothers car, and everyone got to calling me "Dented Rick" the name kinda stuck

As far as my Avatar, I love Turtles, and have a strong Gaelic Heritage.

Well, I don't have an avatar (most of the time it's just a pic of me. My nick is my First and Middle Initial and my Last name.

Some great stories here! Mine is a play on words as I just couldn't help myself, my day job being a high-school teacher; Cardist - one who does things with card, because at the time I joined here, I had made the decision to stop buying plastic kits, too darned expensive (I am a Scot). My avatar is a character called Iggle-Piggle, from a children's TV show and was chosen because he was a favourite of my Grand-daughter at the time.

My name is from Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds. One of my favorite songs.
My avatar is originally a character from the anime Cowboy Bebop, but I have since then altered the pic somewhat. The first alteration had a TRON motive. Currently it's the armor from the game Mass Effect 3.

Hmm. Think mine might be one of the self explanatory, or nearly so, sets.

Not entirely sure today is a kiting day, though,
"Today: Sunny, with a high near 60. Breezy, with a south southwest wind between 13 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. "

Call it a reminder that the wife's patience is limited and she doesn't necessarily need me hanging around the house all day, every day ... and the pic is a result of a previous meme (that one was about humanizing the "faceless internet").

Yogi (service nickname/call sign derived from strangely pronounced family name or possibly from some friendly/abusive/team-building/TDY incident I can't recall)
