Question about old models

I wasn't sure the best place to ask this so figured I'd start here. With all the threads about old or vintage models lately I got reminded of some old model kits I downloaded from jt-museum.narod.ru.

There are a couple models of big farm tractors I'd like to build some time, but I have a question. On some of the parts sheets there seem to be two different sets of parts. One set in black lines, the other set in red lines.

It looks like some parts are meant to be traced on another sheet and cut out, others cut directly from the sheet, and yet others duplicated as many times as needed. Am I on the right rack here? If you're familiar with this kind of print please give me any input you have.

I always figured that some day I'd just poke around on Russian sites and build up a collection of Russian characters, then cut/paste them together to duplicate the words in the instructions, then translate them using google translate, but that sounds way too daunting.

I think I understand the system employed in those pages, SJS.

The Red outlines are body shape, "trace here, use to build bodywork" etc.
This would include layering the red outlines onto suitable cardstock.

The Black outlines are "Use as guide for shape of wooden former or wooden parts" so as to create a true 3d model.

That would be the way I'd interpret the pages.

Having looked at the Hetzer tank pages as an example, it became reasonably obvious.
