I've run across some models from this Russian magazine; not sure whether the sources I found are legitimate are not. Does anyone know the legal source for models from this magazine?

There was/ is (?) a web site for the magazine. Some of the posted back issues had models that could be downloaded. The Cyrrilic characters for the magazine looked like HOT. The site stopped being updated a long time ago. I do not have the URL anymore.

I believe the one you are referring to is Càéò ðåäàêöèè "Þíûé Òåõíèê"
I just happened to be looking at it yesterday.

It still works! The big letters spell Yout (Youth), and the key is to look within the monthly issues for the words below (Table Top Museum). There you will find a paper model in most issues, which can be downloaded sheet by sheet as jpgs. There is for example a 1912 Sikorski S16 in 3/2004, designed by A Linkin. There are instructions (in Russian, and even better, lots of helpful drawings. Cheers.

The site you have all listed is the one I was looking at. Does anyone know whether it is legal or pirate? With Russian sites I want to be extra cautious.

There are those of us who suspect that this one is completely legit, but as it's Russian we can't prove it for certain.

Anne, your caution regarding this site is commendable. However, I've seen a number of build threads posted here based on models from this site so it's probably legit. BTW, I did the search that Rob suggested and found nineteen separate models including vintage aircraft, ships, armor, a submarine, several cars, at least two J. Verne subjects and even a radio tower/weather observatory.

Yes, very interesting. Russian classes were a very long time ago, so it was a bit of a pain to sound out a few key words. But one of the sailing ships is the Mary Rose of Henry VIII's time, and another is supposed to be the Arabella -- the ship of Rafael Sabatini's famous Captain Peter Blood. I've seen a few other paper models of galleys, but the Greek trireme is the only such model I know of. And it looks as though you could assemble the Swordfish with either fixed gear or floats. My hat's off to every menber of the forum involved in this find.

By plugging the URL for the site into Google Text and Web, I was able to get a (good enough) translated version of the site in English. This makes navigating the pages much easier. There are also some fascinating other articles in the magazines.
