Your results are certainly better than mine. I wonder if Orlik reissued the kit with some changes.

On my kit, the color differences between adjacent fuselage sections was huge, and the size mismatch between the nose section and the cockpit was impossible to correct without mangling the kit and making the profile very inaccurate.

You did a very nice job. It's a good-looking build, even if it isn't accurate to the prototype.
