If you spill paint on the carpet you will need to replace the carpet, and that can get very expensive.

Mike, If you haven't noticed yet, a lot of us who build paper models started out doing plastic models, I have a good stash of models that I want to build, but right now, from a price perspective, paper modeling is cheaper

Hi Mike, a lot depends on what type of model you want to do. For more modern cars (especially American) right now plastic is pretty much your only choice. Paper is cheaper overall (especially if you get into using photoetch and lots of paint products on the plastic).

I bounce back and forth. Right now I have an old Aurora (Revell reissue) Aston Martin DB4 , a Modelik Ursus tractor, an amime figure in paper and a AMT 41 Plymouth in various stages on the bench. So it all comes down to what you're having fun doing. I've got a job I have to go to--the models are for relaxation.

Well I hope you stick around, maybe build something from card/paper in the future.

As for costs for card and plastic modelling, they can both be expensive. Some plastic kits can cost hundreds of £/$. Original ink for my epson costs around £70/$100, but I get a lot of models from them. And I also print lots of other stuff of as well.

Get re-fillable carts...I got some for my Epson 1100 that cost about the same as a set of new ones and have refilled them for over a year now and just ink cost me 35$ for a years worth.....Rich
