I'd never heard of it before, so I googled it ...Brilliant !!!

Similarily the Royal Signals Radio trucks were very popular on excercise in Germany. Air conditioned, with bags of storage space. A virtual rolling pub.

That DH 88 link is a great one Bernie. I'd always thought the 88 was a one-off.

Johnny.

as well as the Spitfire mod XXX Hawker Typhoons were equip for the same job with specially cleaned drop tanks also a couple of books note the large amount of space found in their gun bays.
Maybe not considered beautiful by anyone else but top of my list would be the Hawker Typhoon
the rest in no real order and subject to change on a whim
TSR2
Avro Arrow
Hawker Hunter
Hawker Tempest
Hawker Sea Fury
Folland Gnat (lucky enough to of seen the Red Arrows fly them and even luckier to of see Ray Hanna lead them
DH Sea Vixen
EE Lightning
Avro Lancaster
and many many more all jumping up and down the ratings in my affections

Can't determine any order, but these are on my list:

-Ho 229
-Bf 109E
-Fw 190 (A-3 or D)
-F-14
-F-22
-Mirage IIIC
-He 219

Then of course the P-51, the Me 262, Fokker E.III, T-38 (in NASA colors), the F-16, XB-70 (Valkyrie), Su 27... can't find an end on my list!
