Ebay anti-piracy links
Ebay has just announced policy changes, some of which will help rid them and us of paper model pirates. They actually have some pretty rigid rules about distribution of digital media. And the best part is that I found a link to a phone number. You have to use a supplied password within 15 minutes but at least you can call them.
Here's the link on digital media policy: Digitally delivered goods policy And here's the phone number link: http://ocs.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tCS&query=1646 We should probably keep this info updated somewhere on this site for future reference so when a pirate is found we can flood ebay with reports on the perpetrator. good work curt, maybe this will hamper a few of the newer ones. don't know what it will do to the alice's out there

Well, I am not going to list a Hobby - Craft - Model Kit item
in the "Everything Else" category? Thats not going to go over too well. I have a feeling that these pirated Models will still be available in the Hobbies areas. And if you are like that Chinese company, you can still get away with listing a printed copy of copyrighted material...correct? Ebay is crap now anyway...so I don't bother trying to sell my models there any more. So, if the only sellers left are pirates, then it might do something to them. |

That is a quote copied from the link Curt provided........... So if you find something listing in another catagory it seems all you have to do is click the Report item link and report it. It can't do anything but help, or drive the ebay folks checking this out crazy! john |
Wow........... a quick scan of ebay........... and I mean quick scan, I did not see ANY listing for downloadable models.
Now that don't mean there aren't any, it means I just checked and did not find any. Somebody else check................ok? |
Well I just reported this link
Howl's Moving Castle, paper model, kit to produce a model | eBay He has sold 4 copies already so I'm thinking he's making the copies........... anyway I reported it and they said they will check. If its legit I'll appologize, if its not maybe it will go away. john |
Wow, thanks for the links, read about the electronic downloads and how to list them.
Save on shipping from here in Alaska on some models, might try and list a few to see how bad eBay has become. Used to sale lots of stuff there, but the last few years just been buying. mike |

You will not be apologize to that seller, John. The model is a scan copy. I know because I have the original printed model published by Kodansha in my hand, ok, not in my hand, on my bookshelf actually. But, that is a pirated model. |
