Online Video Chat Broadcast...help

I think I need to hear from someone who already has
direct knowledge before you suggest a site...please.

I am already aware of a number of cam sites,
but I'm running into problems.

My idea was to join a site and setup a video chat page.
I was going to broadcast from my laptop,
so modeling friends could meet me,
watch me work on a model
and chat with me.

I even found one site where I setup real quick,
created a page and was up broadcasting in seconds.
Only issue was that Visitors needed to pay
for a membership so they could chat with me.
I think other cam broadcasters can see and chat with you,
but viewers can not.

So, I am looking for a site that is free
...will let me create a dedicated page,
allow public visitors to watch and hear and chat with me for free.

I think its a good idea that visitors have to sign up, log in, etc
but they shouldn't have to connect with a cam or pay for a membership.

Can anyone recommend such a site?

I use it, and I have used it when broadcasting from the IPMC

yes, I did look around there.
(I think I remember your channel from a couple years back)

I will go back and look around again!

I just tried justin.tv...got it all setup...but the video quality is awful!
I checked out the cam broadcast on some other sites and none were this bad.

Similar to the Ustream ones with the app...another alternative is Qik. I've used Qik in the past...but don't use it now as I don't have need for it anymore.

The Ustream videos ran fine for me...after the ad ran, which took a little bit to load.

ads? I don't see any ads either.
I see two links for videos, but when i click them nothing at all happens.
I'll keep playing around.

Ustream looks like a good option.
The basic plan seems sufficient for me and the video streaming quality is very nice.

I am broadcasting right now on my laptop and watching on my PC.

cutandfold on USTREAM: Dave's Card Creations - Paper Scale Modeling by Dave Winfield (Ontario Canada) www.cutandfold.info.

Thanks Rick, I think this will do just fine.
Not sure when I will use it, but I thought it might be fun to do a live
broadcast while working on a model...and do some chatting too.
Funny, since I am not actually building anything at the moment! lol
