well the title says it all i got shot in the leg though it's not a deep wound but still it hurts a lot

yup sure is not cool getting shot with a 7.62 X 39

i hope no one ever goes there i got engaged in a gang war while simply walking down the street and while trying to take cover a bullet (don't know if it was intended) wounded me

i can still walk but hardly

what a way to start senior high huh ?

wish me luck guys the doc says it's going to take about 2 weeks until i'm able to walk without help and about 6 weeks until full recovery (jeez don't know why that long)

thnx

Dear Ultra Stone:
When you smash the lemons make lemonaide. Wikipeda has a good drawing of the round with demencions this sould be your next papermodel scratch build. did the doctor give you the spent round for a a trophy? I would assume it was fired from a old AK-47? Please stay safe and heal well,
MILES

Get well soon. Don't rush the healing process it never helps.

I don't know what weapon was used but when we fired 7.62 from an SLR in the British military it had a killing range of over a mile. Thats the reason they stopped using it.
It was easy to shoot through a block wall and although I never saw it we were assured that if hit it would easily remove a limb.

Stay safe and keep away from the pointy end of 7.62 rounds.

Ultra,

Good luck with your recovery.
Six weeks may seem like a long time but it will go fast.
Building lots of papermodels will make the time go faster.

I got Guillain Barre syndrome in April 2011 and still do not have full recovery but much better than I was then.
Hands and feet are still partially numb but they function.

Ken

ouch! i guess it could have been worse. the 7.62 x 39 round is different from the old NATO round (7.62 x 45). the latter was used in the M14 (and SLR) and will take a limb off at the right range.... there are still a lot of "slaprock" rounds out there....

i hope your recovery goes well...
