On posting photos and drawings from other sources
If you're posting "borrowed" photos or drawings with a model that's free, just identify the source of the image(s). That is the courteous and ethical thing to do. (The same is true of images you share on this or any other forum.)
If you're including a borrowed image in a kit that you're selling, that's commercial use and you need the permission of the owner of the image. If the images are from military or government archives, or if they are more than 50 years old, they may in the public domain. If they are, they can be reproduced for personal or commercial uses. You still need to identify the source. Note that a lot of museums and public and private archives (Getty Images, Smithsonian, etc.) do charge a fee for use of images from their collection. Copying those images without permission might not be illegal if the images are in the public domain (I'm not sure about that). It would clearly be unethical. In every case, identifying the source of an image you "borrow" is easy, proper, and ethical. Failing to do so is, at the very least, bad manners. And remember, "character" is what you do when no one is watching. --David

I need to stop sleeping so I can catch them. Alexis was one of the most beautiful young women I ever personally knew (She went on to become a cheerleader/dancer for the Phoenix Suns)

I guess I've joined your club as well.
A friend sent me an email with a screenshot of the Alice site. And they even used a picture of my build. I'm curious to see if Alice went to the extent of editing out the "free not for sale <my eamil address>" labels that I put on the diagrams. |

Interesting development ... Ali-baba floats on the US stock exchange, and soon after Alice's internet shop is closed !
Actually the 'Alice's Paper models' name is still in use, but it's a wholesale shop now. The retail side seems to have been closed. Unless anyone has found an alternative URL, looks like there's been some success here. Even a search on Manufacturers, Suppliers, Exporters & Importers from the world's largest online B2B marketplace-Alibaba.com doesn't find her. Johnny |

And that's a good thing....
Coincidentally, my wife was watching 60 Minutes (a national news segment in the US) and one of the stories that was on just a bit ago, an interview with the owner of Alibaba. |

I looked at aliexpress...did a search for papermodel...
found half a dozen sellers of "alice paper model" kits. Nothing has changed. They just sell under different names now.

Tried lodging objections and complaints against this lot, so far no luck, best thing to do is just spread the word that they are a rip off and dont waste your money with them.
