I've noticed there are a bunch of trekkies/ers here on the forum! And as such, we are required by the Federation charter drafted and signed in 2161 to have an all out nerd fest. So I made this thread so we can do so! Any discussion related to Star Trek, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT or the reboot...go ahead.

Personally, my favorite ship is either Voyager or the Enterprise-E. Series would be either VOY or TNG...not sure which. What about you guys?

a modifed excelsior or a 1701-e with a excelsior type neck would be my favorite, also the ol'tos 1701. love those nacelle globes for almost 50 years.

there is a paper model of that floating around.i cant remember the name of who did it. people here will know and probably know how to get one.

i loved the TMP era maybe because thats what i watched the most of when i was growing up but the 2270 refit will always remain as my favorite ship of all time.

well it is a beauty very femine in outlines. the tos was too, but more boldly. the pearl white paint, and aztec pattern, the blue colors, and swept back look and entirely new nacelles that kept us guessing until this jjabrams movie came out , as to how they worked. i imagined all this time that a middle of the ship between the nacelles warp field rolled along like a conveyor belt, and the end of them were only thrusters for turning , but they are all and have always been rockets of some kind of atomic hyper energy. pushing them along. the kd-7 graph unit also pushes that ship along with two kinds, almost impulse speed on the bottom, and on the top rear of it the atomic hyper energy rocket push.
romulan bird of prey only went a little over full impulse, again with rocket type push, and then in the stng next generation, they did a whole warp bubble rotation to star hop along, from 0-warp 8 i believe they stated in cannon.

I am a tng ds9 voy ent and reboot fan they have much better characters and visual effects much better plots and enemy's like the Borg the jem'hadar the q and the xindi

Don't feel bad spaceagent! I take pride in explaining 24th cent. warp theory.

I always imagined that the impulse engine was a rocket "type" propulsion, but the nacelles still created a warp field when the ship was traveling around .75-.9c, so there was no time dilation.

every new tech navigational deflector should also be a special weapons array--- nanites, gravity lance, super phaser, splatter spray decloaker, mega tractor beam and radiation spray!

lol apparently that's why the sovereign class deflector looks so different.
