well Tron was pretty good in my opinion and so are the Pirates movies.. if they can get good writing like they did for those movies then i will be satisfied and while they are at it they need to go ahead and redo Star Wars Eps1-3 because the writing of George Lucas is awful

Well, if rumors are true or partially true...it would be nice to see the original actors return in the new movies as older versions of themselves.

It must be agonizing to be a sci-fi fan with personal tastes very different from the majority. The simple fact is Abrams has made the studios a ton of bucks and a lot of people have actually liked his work. I can't imagine why the studio brass would pick the hottest director in the business over, say some schmuck with only a few music videos to his credit-- the way they used to pick directors for Alien sequels.

I've neither enthusiasm or gripes about his directing work. As a TV producer he's repeatedly annoyed me. I watching his series and keep realizing they have no real interest in sci-fi or mystery solving-- they just use those as gimmicks to draw you into the human drama stories. Still, I keep watching...

For me the first movie was the only one I liked, all the rest were just too daytime soap opera for me. The first was a outer space cowboy movie, after that just a bad "As the Space Ship Turns". I get too much human drama in my life already.......Rich

the sad thing is that if he doesnt do a good job, no one will care, the standard will be lowered. our grandchildren will be arguing about it.
