My friend is gone

Today I had a terrible news. My co-worker with whom I worked for over 15 years died of a heart attack at only 43 years old. What I destroyed is that you went to the hospital two days ago and told him that he had nothing, just resigned in the night is off. is crazy, I'm out a lot and are destroyed. I still think that until the day before they were joking together and now it's gone. I hope not to have too bored with my suffering.

Marco

so it destroyed you emotionally when you visited him and assured him that he wasnt sick and that he would be all better in the morning?
we are only human and usually cant predict the future. you were trying to support him, and reassure him. you did the right thing, so he would not worry all night, or make himself sicker with his worrying.
you didnt hurt him, or say anything wrong, you were being a good friend to visit him and spend time telling him that he is going to be ok.
im very sorry for you losing your friend. please dont agonize yourself because he died.
keep close with your other friends, im sure that you have many here to connect with.

It never gets easy and shouldn't. Loosing a friend. You have years of good memories which will stay with you for ever. But it's going to take time to move on. Take care of your self.

Condolences, Marco. It's so difficult losing someone close to you, especially when it is not expected.

About 15 years ago, a close colleague of mine suddenly lost his life in a motorcycle accident -- at just about the same age as your friend. So I understand what a wrench this is for you, and I have the greatest sympathy. If it's possible, you may find comfort through helping with funeral services, or helping his family afterwards. But in one sense, your friendship will continue, despite his death -- even after all these years, random things I see remind me of Bill, because he would have enjoyed them, too. Your friend will continue to be with you, Marco, in the same way.

Over 15 years ago I lost my closest friend and fly-fishing mentor. To this day I cannot go fishing without thinking of him. My sincerest condolences on your loss.
