Proof I am insane ...
So, I was trying to find the printout of the Fiddlers Green Helldiver that I just KNOW I have around here someplace, and in rooting through my collection of unbuilt models, I made a list of some of the subjects, more or less in the order I found them:
A Trotskiy Aichi Seiran floatplane Several Fiddlers Green lighthouses A red panda Thanksgiving coasters (for under your drink, where the moisture would undoubtedly cause the ink to run) A green and purple centaur A chocolate cake Volkswagen bug Dragon Rapide biplane Farm animals Lots of cars Many tanks A Russian armored car of some sort that may or may not be pirated (not intentionally), but it doesn't matter because I think one sheet is missing anyhow A Dodo bird A harbor diorama An assortment of Fiddlers Green printed postcard models Several dollhouses This does not exhaust the options, but you get the idea. I have, um, varied tastes. So, my question just for fun is, from the above non-comprehensive list, what do you folks think I should choose as my next project? (After the Helldiver, of course. I did find it eventually.) Anne |

Varied tastes are hardly unique to you, nor is there any duty to build the "right" model next. If your goal here is to work your way through the list as quickly as possible, then the obvious first choice should be the model you can complete in the least amount of time, the second model should be the one that will take the next least time, and so forth. But if your goal is personal enjoyment -- i.e., my idea of any hobby -- there should be the greatest leeway for freedom and flexibility. So my suggestion is to let your own whims guide you. An alternative might be relying on chance, such as drawing a name out of a hat. It's supposed to be fun, and worrying about what's next can only interfere with that fun.

also the simplest to build first, maybe a hard one for the weekends, like yale said, this is supposed to be fun, and fufilling. im sure that you will do what is comfortable for you.
right now i am building a wreck of a job on a model, to increase my skills, and understanding. so often i have wanted to burn this ship up and print it out on thicker card paper and do a good job. but the goal was to become a better builder, not whip thru a better model print. its hard when enjoyable mixes with hard work and time, and even knowing that you are going to not be happy with the outcome. your list is enough to keep you busy for a while. enjoy this time! |

The dodo bird and the red panda are projects that are always near the top of my to-do list and never seem to get done. I'd vote for one of them
