i draw circles, it prints ovals.....
this is becoming a problem,
i use ms paint. windows 7 i draw circles. what is printed is ovals. sometimes even the saved page is changed to an oval. not all the print is stretched. just occasionally the circles turn out as ovals, mostly when printed. sometimes in the page on screen. am i saving it wrong? how could it be my error? i double check and view the page on photo veiwer. does any one know a reason besides me being stupid? |

Check your printer setting to see if it is set to "scale to fit paper" or something along those lines.
Next I would be suspect of MS paint it is not the best drawing program to use. Try Inkscape which is a freeware vector drawing program that has a lot of features that are not in MS paint. You can down load the full version for free at Inkscape. Draw Freely. Jim Nunn

Jim has some great advice!
If they still won't print right, it might be the printer. Does it print the same way on other printers? I ask this because of skew. Means the printer has trouble moving the paper evenly through the printer. Good luck! Mike

Check your monitor settings. Do you have a wide-screen monitor? What is drawn on the screen will not be the same as printed, you need to make sure that your display is 4:3 ratio for wysiswyg.
Hope this helps Bernie |

Since when? Certainly no trouble here with wide monitors. I have one paired with a 4:3 monitor and have no distortion issues with either. Nor with material dragged from one monitor to the other - or half way between.

If the screen is not set for the LCD monitor's native resolution, it could certainly be skewed on screen. In MS Paint, if you hold the Shift key while dragging your circle, it will lock to a circle rather than an oval. When you do this, is it circular? If it is, then the printer is the issue. If it is not circular, your monitor is skewed.

i also use an xp crt moniter, non wide screen.
i printed out an oval from a circle i was looking right at on the screen. it might be the print out setting, but it doesnt do it every time. i will try that holding down the shift key for the auto circle, thanks mags! |

As suggested I'd recomend using Inkscape or some other vector based drawing program.
