I thought I might do it this summer, since my vacuum blows out my fuses when I try to vacuuform plastic, Its either this or by a lesser vacuum lol.
this with the plumbers epoxy for a mold, [just squish and press down on the positive, let dry] could make some neat models. I hope more people respond, I would like to know what they think, what kinds of parts need to be made, etc. thanks for replying! |

how would you sell "paper mache kits"?
are you talking about molding paper mache parts and then selling them or selling a pattern or a mold for someone to use as a form for a paper mache part?

I would take to heart the survey, nosecones, canopies and such im sure, and them make a kit or piece and just offer them for sale. I don't know if that is inconveincing any one, I don't think I would take something off a sold kit. just a description of these hard to make parts, for instance, grills, or small hard to detail pieces. I thought I would mold a Gort and cast it in two parts, front and back. maybe domes and bends if some one requests them. I hear all the time about canopies, nosecones in all sizes, and sometimes grills.
I would prefer to keep them hand made, rather than sell plans on how to make one. |

To be honest, I'm really not understanding what you are offering.
In most paper models there are common parts that are sometimes made from other materials because they can't be made in paper (eg a clear canopy for an aircraft) or parts that require difficult, repetitive and/or micro detailed work (eg small wheels and tires, Tank tracks, etc) Modellers have found other options for those like items, vacuformed canopies, wooden discs and wheels, laser cut card formers and track parts, etc. Not sure what parts you are thinking might be saleable? I don't think you will have much luck selling paper formed part like nosecones or domes. As far as Gort...you are referring to Gort, from Day the Earth Stood Still? You want to cast a model or form of Gort? And sell it? Since Gort is part of copyrighted material, you can't offer to sell a Gort model or take requests to produce a model like that for sale. Unless you have a deal with 20th century Fox?
